Gas transmission services
APA provides open access to all our pipelines, facilities, and the interconnected APA grid, offering a range of services across our pipeline and compression assets.
Where an asset (pipeline or compression) has available spare capacity, APA offers firm transport and compression capacity over a number of terms:
- Long-term – for firm capacity commitments involving a term equal to or greater than 12 months.
- Short-term – for firm capacity commitments involving a term of less than 12 months.
- Day-ahead – for firm capacity commitments on a day-ahead basis.
- Within-day – for access to firm capacity within a day, without advance capacity reservation, nominated after the nomination deadline relevant to the particular asset for which the capacity is sought.
Where an asset (pipeline or compression) does not have available spare capacity to provide a particular service, APA offers interruptible capacity over the following terms:
- Day-ahead – for access to interruptible capacity on a day ahead basis, nominated before the nomination deadline relevant to the particular asset for which the capacity is sought.
- Within-day – for access to interruptible capacity within a day, nominated after the nomination deadline relevant to the particular asset for which the capacity is sought.
Compression may be required to transport gas between some receipt and delivery point combinations at Moomba and Wallumbilla. A matrix setting out circumstances where compression will be required can be found in the MAS tariff matrix.
Operational information, including locational and pressure data, for each receipt and delivery point on APA's central and east coast pipelines can be found here. A link to this webpage is included in the Standard Gas Transportation Agreement (SGTA) for each customer utilising the East Coast Grid or Central Region Piplelines.
We offer park and/or loan services over the following terms:
- Long-term – for firm park and/or loan commitments involving a term equal to or greater than 12 months.
- Short-term – for firm park and/or loan commitments involving a term of less than 12 months.
- Day-ahead and Within-day – for interruptible park and/or loan on a day ahead or within day basis, without advance capacity reservation.
Further details of the standard terms and conditions for firm and interruptible services can be found in APA's Standard Gas Transportation Agreements (SGTA). This includes details of the priority ranking of services in relation to other services in scheduling, and in the event of curtailment.
Current tariff and terms for each asset and service can be found on the tariffs and terms page.
APA has prepared a user access guide, setting out how prospective shippers can gain access to pipeline capacity.
