We engage with suppliers and contractors that are an integral part of our high quality service delivery.

Information for suppliers and contractors
Workday strategic sourcing

APA has introduced a new cloud-based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution called Workday. Workday will improve the way we do business including, with our suppliers.

Our standards

As a long term investor in energy infrastructure, we expect members of our supply chain are committed to:

Effective governance, considering all of our stakeholders including customers, regulators, government and the communities we impact. We require our suppliers and contractors to practice quality and risk management to not only maintain quality products and services that consider the environment, but also to deliver an effective recovery in the event of a disruption.

Compliance with local and national laws and regulations, including the laws of any countries where product is sourced or from where services are provided. This includes compliance with environment, anti-bribery and corruption, work health and safety, data privacy and labour laws and regulations.

Working and supporting local communities to develop long lasting partnerships that maintain support and goodwill with local businesses and communities. Our suppliers and contractors need to share and respect this value

Working sustainably in relation to the environment. We value goods and services that consider the environment. For example, impact on waste, water, noise, emissions and the sustainable sourcing of materials, among others.

Working safely and fairly as a prerequisite for any business activity. This means having well established safety management systems and closely monitoring and mitigating the risks associated with OHS and employment practices

Induction and training

At APA, safety is important for everything we do and that applies to both personal safety and the safety of our assets. As such, contractors and subcontractors working for APA and on APA assets and sites will be required to provide evidence of completion of relevant competencies and training prior to performing work on APA worksite.

Training and competency requirements vary according to the type of work being undertaken and the location of the work. Contractors must speak with their relevant APA representative / Contractor Works Owner to determine training, licence and competency requirements for the work they are being engaged for.

APA Inductions

APA Inductions are available to contractors via two web based applications, Birch and Rapid. The APA  representative / Contractor Works Owner will advise their contractors which to use.

Birch: general portal used for most contractors. Self registration available.

Rapid: used by specific sites. Contractors will be advised when to use this portal, and provided details for access by their APA representative.

Before You Dig

If you’re involved in construction or excavation work near a high-pressure gas transmission pipeline or electricity transmission asset you must use the Before You Dig Australia service.
